Biography

Laura is a shareholder with Crivello, Nichols & Hall, S.C. Laura concentrates her practice on toxic tort litigation and commercial environmental litigation. Laura has successfully litigated a number of summary judgment motions in toxic tort cases.

Laura was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Laura attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and graduated magna cum laude. Laura majored in English and received an award for her honors thesis on the fiction of Virginia Woolf. Laura spent several years working in the publishing industry (Cornell University Press) and in advertising (Boston Store). Having long considered law school, Laura finally took the plunge in 1982 at the University of Wisconsin Law School. During law school, Laura clerked at the Wisconsin Justice Department researching and writing legal memoranda on various topics. Laura also served in student government during law school.

Upon graduation, Laura worked as an associate at Godfrey, Pfeil and Neshek in Elkhorn and served as a prosecutor (and tried cases) for several villages in the area. Laura then spent three years as a litigation associate at Michael, Best and Friedrich. Subsequently, Laura worked at Cook and Franke in Milwaukee, and became a shareholder.

Laura also served on several occasions on the faculty for UW Madison Law School's General Practice/Lawyering Skills Course. Laura has presented on various topics at the Forum on Environmental and Toxic Torts Institute and Wisconsin Defense Counsel Conference.
